UnManipulated Photo's
Front Cover Image:
I really liked this image, hence the reason I picked it for my front cover. I didn't just pick it because its a 'pretty' image I wanted to use it because it correctly portrayed the kind of person to my genre of music. The pose of the person in this picture shows their dominance and that they have a strong attitude, I thought this pose met the convention of a rap artists. I had the subject dress in all black showing his power and masculinity, however I made him wear white chinos so that it is not to black and still meets my genre of music, a typical rap artist may dress up like him e.g. the snapback, chinos and a hoddie. In this picture the youth will be able to pick out the hidden messages of the subject by his stance & clothing, like if he is in a rap related gang. The background I am unsure if I wan to keep him with all the scenery or edit him out, it depends on how it look with all my writing around it. But the image itself has enough space to put a masthead, cover-lines, bar-codes etc.. around it.
Contents Page:

These ar the threepictures that i used in my contents page I specifically chose my subjects wisely, and made sure that for the males they were of a black ethnicity , due to the fact that the ethnic majority that would read rap magazine would be black males aged 15-25. For the image of the female it didn't really matter from what ethnic background she was from, just as long as she was deemed "hot". The only one of my subjects that is using eye contact is my main subject, the others are striking poses, my female subject is showing her body while shying away from the camera and my other black male subject is, looking into the distance while remaining an informal stance. All of my photographs were taking in the day time, the female subject picture was also taken in the day, however indoors.
Photo's I Decided Not To Use:

Here is 4 photographs that i decided not to use, 3 of them are of my main subject and the other one, is of another guy whose picture will be on my contents page. The top left photo, I was going to chose however its not a very clear picture its quite fuzzy, also the subject is to far away, not only that but that image looks like it is at a angle which looks unprofessional. The top right photo I was going to chose because I thought it would be a good picture for the front cover, however it makes my subject look quite dark and the image isn't very clear, I liked the position he was in though, I could have worked around him with my masthead and cover-lines but due to the fact I didn't use the camera in the right way, this is now classified as a bad image. The bottom right image yet again it is out of focus and looks unproffesional. For the bottom left image I like the image, it is in focus and the lighting is right however his body language is to aggressive and misleading, it doesnt look like it is for a Rap/RnB magazine it looks like its genre would be grime or ghetto or gangsta rap. I think though by looking at these photos and the photos that I actually used for my final piece, it shows that photography skills have defintely improved, especially when you compare them to some of my other photographs.

I went through many images before deciding on this one, I had to pick an image where the subject match what I was trying to portray and in this instance that was a rap artist. I gave my subject a microphone (prop) to hold , to give that realistic effect that he is rapping. Space wise there is enough space to place the title and possibly a quote around/near him. The outfit he is wearing will go wit the colour scheme of red and black, although he s wearing a blue cardigan on a black background and with some editing, it will work. I think his stance is rap like, in the sense that while he is raping he is pointing at yo like in a concert.
